Gate Welding Repair
A gate that drags, won't latch or has come off its hinge can usually be fixed on site, without taking the gate to a shop.
What a mobile welder can fix
- Broken or worn hinges and hinge pins
- Sagging driveway gates re-hung and braced
- Broken latches, drop rods and lock tabs
- Cracked pickets, rails and frames on iron gates
- Steel-tube and chain-link gate frames
- Bent or loose gate posts and post brackets
- Brackets for gate openers (the opener's electronics are a job for the gate company)
Before you call
- Photos of the hinge side and the latch side
- Roughly how wide the gate is
- What it's made of, if you know (wrought iron, steel tube, aluminum)
- Whether the gate is still hanging or is on the ground
Heavy driveway gates can fall when a hinge lets go. If one is hanging by a single hinge, prop or tie it and keep kids and cars clear until it's fixed. Aluminum needs different welding equipment than steel, so say if the gate is aluminum.

Questions
Common questions
Q.01Can you make a new gate?
Ask when you call. Custom gates are built to measure, so the welder will want photos, sizes and what you want it to look like before quoting.
Q.02My automatic gate stopped working. Can a welder fix it?
If a bracket, arm mount or hinge broke, yes. If the motor or controls failed, you'll need the gate opener company.
Q.03How much will it cost?
The welder quotes after seeing it. Requests are free.
